Do schools have the right to ban students from having facebook accounts in Australia?

I'm guessing no. Try to reason out why they should be allowed to do that. They can't ban students from having blogs or e-mails can they, what's the difference? I highly doubt that schools have that right. Try asking some teachers or headmasters, if they say yes ask for proof.
