Is it ok to leave whole roaster chicken in the fridge defrosted for 1 week?

I bought a roaster chicken and put it in the freezer. I decided I wanted to cook it so I took it out of the freezer , left it in the original plastic and tied a plastic bag around it so the juices stay contained and i put it in the Pan and placed in the refridgerater on Monday to defrost. Is it safe to cook/eat?
