5 month old possible ear infection?

What is the best way to distinguish between teething and an ear infection? My daughter is 5 months old and she has been teething for a while now. The last couple of weeks have been extremely bad though, she has become my permanent attachment :) She is not happy doing anything anymore, will not play in bouncer or activity center, does not want to lay down and roll on the floor. She pulls on her ears sometimes but that can also be from teething right? She is not running a fever, I just checked and it was 99.3 which is pretty normal for a newborn. She has not been eating like she normallly does and she is still sleeping pretty well but occasionally will wake up more than she normally does. I do not want to rush her to the ER just to be told that she is teething. I thought I would ask other mothers who have had children with ear infections the best way to distinguish. PinkFairy I get these as well specifically flashing lights and floaters and sometimes sensitivity. I have to ask do you wear contacts? I feel my contacts cause this for me. Now on to the problem. Its probably nothing. If it is something, the range of things it could be is somewhat great. I read that if you wear contacts you can get fungus buildup in the eyes that can cause these symptoms. Again i am having these symptoms also and think its nothing. I am wondering to myself if it could mean too much time spent looking at tv or a computer.

Withdrawal of student loan for course transfer?

My boyfriend has decided that he wants to transfer to another course in his second year at uni, in the same department, which his lecturers have agreed to. He does have what his personal tutor has described as mitigating cirstances (financial difficulties and problems with one of his lecturers). However, someone has told him that unless the LEA accepts that he has had mitigating cirstances, he will not be eligible for a student loan next academic year, which would mean he could not continue with his studies. Ok this is my story. I have been having back pain for the last 6 months. I have gone for x-rays and mri scans and they tell me that my lower lumbar has an exaggerated curve in it. Windows Media Player Glitch?

Well, I have windows 7 and for some reason some videos (MP4 Format) dont work on WMP, they lag, the sound doesn't work and in its place is some kind of robotic screeching sound. However, on windows 7 when you open folders you can 'preview' things, wether it be doents, pictures or videos - and when I play them on there they work fine. Any idea why this is happening? They used to work fine on WMP, but reacently not.

I kind of a techie, and I think that Dell is overpriced and overrated, but they seem to have some kind of hold on the general public. Average people who don't look very far into the price to spec ratio are making these computers out to be some kind of quality staple of what the best pc should be. I love my PC (ASUS UL30a) and it was priced great and has great specs, a much better computer than any dell for the same price. It sounds more like you just have bad sleep hygiene. You need to maintain a normal sleep schedule. Get up at the same time and go to bed at the same time everyday. If you had true insomnia you would probably not be able to sleep nine hours at a time. More than likely you have your sleep patterns so tered that you get sleep deprived and cannot sleep when it is time. Eventually you will crash hard for a while. And then you will go back to your terrible sleep patterns again. Do things that relax you before bedtime. Take a warm bath, read a book, listen to music. Whatever you like to keep your mind at ease and keep your schedule the same everyday. Eventually you will get back on track. Good luck

Off to college but need a little advice?

I usually put rocks in also but in some I didn't (got lazy looking for some) and I don't see any difference. Rocks just help the drainage a little won't effect the growing of the plants if you use good potting soil like miricle grow.

Try and think about a year from now or 6 months when you can join the military. Do you have any friends for support? If not join a social group, there are so many specialized groups, maybe there's one out there where you can share your thoughts. Try and keep in mind that things will eventually turn around, slowly but surely. If face book makes you depressed, don't look at it. I know this isn't much and things look bleak but hang in there.

My friend is a sprinter athlete, clocking between 10.7 and 11.2 for the hundred meters. I am a bit worried because as soon as his training ends, he goes with friends in a bar and drinks a few beers and even wine and vodka. He says he's ok as his coach advised him to at most 20 units of alcohol, and in the training season at most 10! His performance still improved this year, but not quite as much as before. He also says that he gets enough protein and goes with that and just another big meal in the morning. Is this regimen ok? I start feeling dizzy and get bad sleep even with 2 beers in the evening.

Yes, there is but it isn't very big. The languages are very similar and russians can understand what ukranians are generally saying and vise versa. They also use the same alphabet and many of the words are the same. I dont think it matters which you would want to learn because tehy are similar, bother languages have some words that aren't in the other so if you learn one, it will be easier for you to learn the other.

I think My Girl's Gone Crazy?

My girlfriend and I have been going out for about 8 months now and at first things seemed pretty good. We met at KFC (we met when i started working there). She had been working there for almost a year at that point. All the sudden, she caught wind that I thought she was cute, then i caught wind that she thought the same thing. I was involved with another girl at the time but we were not dating. She apparently was just using me... Anyway so eventually we started dating and I had started thinking that she was my perfect match. As soon as we got to know eachother to a personal standpoint, she started showing all the real emotions. At the surface, she seems really nice, hard working, and respectable. Underneath, she is a very angry person. My point is, she takes her anger out on me about every single little thing that sets her off (which includes the littlest things). She said she doesn't realize it when she's doing it. That's the main thing. She has PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) which means that everything that happened in her past catches up with her and then she goes OFF. I am 17 and she is 20. She has a 4 yr old son. She pays no attention to me while she or I is home (which is almost never because she works all the time) I quit KFC a long time ago though so i know it wasn't because of us being co workers. There is a list that could go on forever about things that are just unacceptable and you would just need to be there.... We live together in the same roof but things seem to never straighten out. What do i do? Leave or what?

I don't have a sister but I did have foster sisters and had a similar situation to yours. The best thing to do is find the things you are good at and the things you enjoy and work on excelling at those - not to be better than your sister, but to be better for yourself. Instead of comparing yourself to your sister start finding things to do and get involved with that your sister is not involved with. Here's why...if you do different things than your sister it will be harder for people to compare you to her. But ultimately, this will help you to find yourself and become comfortable in your own skin. It won't happen overnight, but it will happen. Don't focus on losing weight; instead, focus on keeping your body healthy. You sound very smart and very aware of what is going on around you. I think you just need more time to get to know who you really are and to find yourself outside of what your family thinks you should be or what your sister already is. You are your own person and as you work on making yourself unique people will slowly begin to see and accept that. You have to be comfortable with yourself before anyone else will be. And once you are...I can tell you honestly you won't even care if other people don't accept you.

Question for those with unaltered dogs...?

I see a lot of good dog owners on here that say they have unaltered dogs and are able to keep them from breeding. That's great that are able to keep them separated through heats to prevent unwanted litters but does the happiness of your dogs ever come into question? IMO, if I have a b^tch or dog that I never plan to show or breed it is the most humane thing to just have them fixed. Medical debates aside ( I think there are valid points on either side) what about the stress caused by having an unaltered male around a b^tch in heat? I could never do that to my dogs, male or female. I hate to see the desperation in a dogs face when they smell a b^tch in heat but are not allowed to breed and vise versa. What are your opinions on this? I am extremely attentive of my dogs, I have had unaltered rescues come through my home that were not yet fixed and it was heartbreaking to see them in such distress. What reason (health concerns aside) do you have to keep your dogs intact?

I'm really sorry for asking, but I've had a tiny yellow-gray bump on the bottom of my for about a month. I decided that it was a zit, so when I tried to get rid of it, a gelatin-like substance popped out (gross, i know. so sorry!). The jelly thing was solid, and there was no liquid or anything. Part 2- Teaching my 14 month old to sleep....?

Thank you so much for the insight, inspiration and direction to help get my 14 month old on track to fall asleep by herself and eventually to sleep through the night in her crib. The first day I was determined to start the new regimen, Z took a long morning nap and inevitably did not nap in the afternoon. As it turned out, she was pretty sleepy so we gave her dinner a little early and following our regular routine got her in her crib and hour early. I barely had to hold my ground because Z was so tired she fell sleep in about 10 minutes. The next day I purposely pushed her am nap an hour later, she slept longer and wahlah- same as the night before. OK- now today, later nap, but only for an hour and no afternoon nap. By 5:00 she was beyond exhausted. We had a super early dinner, bath, etc and she was out by 6:50... Am I pushing her? I look for signs of Z wanting her second nap and although she seems sleepy and we have quiet time it has not resulted in a nap. Just looking for insight.

I worked for a supervisor just like this one at another job, now i work with the state and i have run into this same personality. I just got the opportunity to be on kickoff return. I'm one of the front 5 guys. I'm not very big but I'm really fast and I'm not very good at blocking either but I can hit the sled and drive it good. Coach decided to put me on this team, replacing a really good big blocker. He may have a low immune system ( he needs that tested) or you may need to look over the conditions you are keeping him and evaluate whether that is wha could make him sick. It isnt normal for horses to get sick so often. I would guess low imune system since he was in poor condition when you got him. Hope he gets better.

I have a congenital heart defect, which I have to have a Cardiac Catheterization done.I filled out a charity care form to help with the cost of the surgery. Anyways, it's taking the hospital forever to review the form to see if I qualify for the discount. I still haven't found out my MRI results from another hospital I went to and it's been 6 months. Gall bladder removal and high blood sugar?

2 years ago my wife had her gall bladder removed. She had pancreatitis as well. Before she was admitted, she was diagnosed with diabetes. Today, she saw the doctor and mentioned her history from two year ago. The doctor had just seen a patient who had a gall bladder removed that was also diagnosed as being diabetic. When this patient took the medication her blood sugar levels dropped to unsafe levels. The doctors concluded that she was not in fact diabetic. My wife did not have this dramatic of a reaction, but the doctor retested her, and concluded that she was not a diabetic. Any insight into this?

It's cauliflower ear. It's a build up of of liquid in your ear that hardens after you get hit. It looks really bad and feels like cauliflower, but it doesn't affect hearing at all though it does hurt for a while after you get it. Some people get it drained by a doctor.

Seeing yourself successfully doing this presentation ,you may practice it before your mirror, if your teacher is scary, you need not look directly at him, fix your gaze next to him or aim it behind him, until you are more comfortable with your delivery. Why does Yahoo Answers also delete good questions and answers?

I reported spammers and spam bots that are advertising something, and i look again the next day and they are still there. That is easy as hell to tell if its violating community guidelines, and in fact they are, so how hard is it to even delete it. Instead they deleted my question which they said i was insulting other participants... Of course not, one person out of 18 couldn't take the question seriously and told me to get a life, which i responded that since he or she is the one that is responding, should probably get a life. So my question is why does Yahoo Answers do a really bad job at deleting content that they should, and have a lot of mistakes deleting content that they shouldn't?

Why am I too tired to make an effort or do well in school?

I'm a freshman in high school and I absolutely hate it. I hate graphic organizers, I hate data tables, I hate charts, equations, homework, tests, exams, reviews, nitpicking teachers, other, intrusive students and "authority figures". History is really the only cl that captivates me but I really like medieval history. I don't really like any of that American History crap where we learn about World War II and then the next day why it sucks to be white because of something your great great great great great great great grandfather did. I usually get an A in history, but I get Ds and Cs in everything else. I even failed my math final. I'm heading to a private school next year as a sopre, but the only reason I got in is because my little brother got in too and they didn't want me to feel bad. I hate the teachers and their condescending attitude and the whole 'mentor' role really doesn't feel natural to me. I am always too tired or indifferent to do my work and I hate staring at a blank graphic organizer or something like that. My mom screams at me and calls me stupid, my dad doesn't care, my teachers are *****, but my friends say I'm smart because I have a large vocabulary or something like that. Sorry for this Hadrian's Wall of text but I'm really confused here. Does anybody else feel this way? Why is it so hard for me to just sit down and do something, or study, or whatever. I hate this. I'm always behind, and I always seem to be thinking about something else. Am I stupid or what? Please help me out. I really don't get it. Paninis are not a good option if you want to have them pre-made. The only way to pre-make them and keep them from getting AS soggy is to keep them refrigerated, but then they're cold and do not reheat well. If you are able, you would be better off having them made upon request of the guest. Good luck!

2000 Mitsubishi Mirage starts to shakes at 50mph what could this be?

OK i have a 2000 mitsubishi mirage. When i get to about 50 mph it starts to vibrate which makes it feel like something is knocking in the engine. When im in the penger seat i can feel it alot...but when im driving it is mainly under the gas pedal. It also goes to the right when i slow down. I was told it could be my motor mounts, tire balance, harmonic balancer....and a few more. When i am coming to a stop from a high speed...once i stop the front end shakes real bad but just for a second.

Does it get better after spacers?

I got my spacers in on Thursday. The istant said I had really tight contacts and to take a pain reliever for discomfort. The rest of the day it felt like I had steak or something stuck in my teeth. Very annoying, but overall not a big deal. Discomfort has to be the understatement of the year! When I woke up Friday, my entire mouth hurt worse than anything I've felt. It's so awful because the pain is all you can think about. Nothing I've taken seems to help with the pain. I'm getting my anchors Tuesday and my brackets on Friday, so I'm just curious: Is this is bad as it gets? Or is the worst yet to come? I've heard that the spacers are the worst part, because they're actually starting the moving process, but others have said the braces are much worse. If it's this bad, I don't see how I'll endure the next 6-12 months.

The complaint or lack of support is waged against the CBC through the CRTC not CBC directly. The CBC would just ignore you but if enough people were to complain to the CRTC about the changes then the CRTC might actually consider it, but again I doubt it. 100 people wouldn't make open a book but 1000 might. A direct complaint about the broadcast standards of the early edition should be sent to the station manager not CBC br as again they will just ignore you. Years and years ago I sent a complaint to the CBC head office as in Alberta, at 3:00 pm just after the afternoon kids shows a very adult show with that blonde Jonathan guy came on. The show should have been on much later in my opinion as the content was very adult, ual and crude content. I got the signatures of over 1400 mothers in the town we lived in who agreed with me and sent to CBC head office. Got a letter back saying too bad, so sad. Sent the same petition to the CRTC, who reviewed the show and time that it was on in western Canada and they made the CBC Calgary (where the broadcast came from) change the programming. Are camcorders allowed at airports?
