What do you think about Dell computers.?

I kind of a techie, and I think that Dell is overpriced and overrated, but they seem to have some kind of hold on the general public. Average people who don't look very far into the price to spec ratio are making these computers out to be some kind of quality staple of what the best pc should be. Is this just me or is anyone kinda fell like Dell is starting to achieve a status where they can simply sell their name. I love my PC (ASUS UL30a) and it was priced great and has great specs, a much better computer than any dell for the same price. I know Dell is an American company, and ASUS is not, so could this be a turning point in technology timeline where other countries are once again beating us at our(America) own game, like they did with vehicles and many other things. Or is it just me, idk, give me sue of your thoughts on the matter. Thanks in advance, appreciate the input.
