Do I have a character defect?

I went to a Macmillan fund raiser in a colleagues house last night, it turned out she had asked only other work colleagues - which included our nippy, snobby, sarcastic, boss. I thought I was going to a party.! Anyway, I hate middle cl groupings, discussing, effing patios, granite worktops, WRI, etc. I was married to a solicitor in the past and vowed not to do this again. Do you agree, or am I as common as muck?
