Are antiques a good investment these days?

Hi all being a big antiques fan (get a lot of my stuff from http://showcaseantiques.com - if your into you should check it) I was wondering what all of you thought on the notion that antiques in this day and age are a lot more valuable then ever before. With the recession on going and the value of paper money sinking a lot of people are turning to either antiques or commodities. I wonder what others think on the idea of stocking up or selling at this time?
